Tell us about your family.
I have three grown sons, all married. I also have five grandchildren (four boys and a girl).
Who was an influential teacher for you, and why?
Two teachers influenced me greatly. The first was a high school English teacher who demanded high quality work from us. She demanded that we engage fully with the material. The other was a college history professor who taught me how to organize my ideas before I began writing. I use the tips he showed me even today.
What are your interests outside of work?
I am a huge fan of the writings of Agatha Christie, so I read, listen to, and watch anything that springs from her writings.
