Tell us about your family.
I have been married to Matt since 1988, and we have two adult boys, Kyle and Ryan. My sister and parents live in Citrus County as well, and we are very close.

What were you like as a child?
As a child, I was very shy in groups but overly outgoing and boisterous when I got to know someone. I loved to climb trees and play outdoors.

Who was an influential teacher for you, and why?
The person most influential to me was Millie White, who was a Beginner's Church teacher of children ages 4-5. I started working with her in Beginner's Church when I was 12, and I loved it! She started turning over the reins and allowing me to be in charge of songs and fingerplays, arts and crafts, and eventually the Bible lessons. When she would go on vacation, she allowed me to take over and be lead "teacher." I worked with her from 7th-12th grade and learned a lot about teaching.

What are your interests outside of work?
In my free time, I love to work jigsaw puzzles, read, shop, and eat out.
